Classical Relativistic Electrodynamics: Theory of Light Emission and Application to Free Electron Lasers (Advanced Texts in Physics), Burkhard Hillebrands, 9783540206231

Description

An advanced course of classical electrodynamics with application to the generation of high-power coherent radiation in the microwave to optical-wave regions. Specifically, it provides readers with the basics of advanced electromagnetic theory and relativistic electrodynamics, guiding them step by step through the theory of free-electron lasers. The theoretical treatment throughout this book is fully developed by means of the usual three-dimensional vector calculus. Toshiyuki Shiozawa is Professor of Communication Engineering at Osaka University. He graduated from Osaka University in 1964, and received his Ph. D. in Communication Engineering from Osaka University in 1969. His fields of interest include electromagnetic theory, engineering-oriented relativistic electrodynamics, free-electron lasers, and bioelectromagnetics. He is an IEEE Fellow.
